Lugano, Switzerland: 18th-20th May 2007

At the end of Mum and Dad's week driving through Switzerland, Diana and I met them in Lugano, on the opposite side of the Alps to most of Switzlerand, and extremely close to Italy. In fact, it is really a small italian enclave, or feels like one, except for the Swiss Francs. The weather was a welcome break for London gloom, and we enjoyed walking along the lake, taking the furniculare to the top of Mt. Bre, having some traditional italian food and gelati, and on Sunday even boating on the lake for an hour (great way to stop the boat Dad!).As Mum and Dad left early to get back to Lausanne on Sunday, Diana and I drove around Lake Maggoire in out under-powered little Lancia.Stopping at Cannobio and not realising how pretty it would be was probably the highlight. It was great to catch up with Mum and Dad away from London, and based on the scenary I can't want to go to Lago Di Como just across the border in July.
