NEW: LAS VEGAS & THE GRAND CANYON, USA.: 7TH-15TH NOVEMBER 2008
Way back in May, Simon and I thought a boys trip to Las Vegas would be a great idea. Then we thought going to the Grand Canyon would be a great idea, and whats
more, why not drive a Dodge Viper there and back just for the fun it and book a helicopter flight into the Canyon. So after a 6 month wait it finally came about
and we gambled and drank 4 nights in a row, before driving the Dodge Viper out to the Canyon and back and taking a trip with Maverick Helicopters. It was a really good
break and I didnt think about the muppets I work for once. I came back very tired and over Vegas and the gambling and the Cigar smoke, but loving it as well. A crazy place.

HONG KONG, CHINA: 4TH-7TH SEPTEMBER 2008
Breaking up the trip back to London into two smaller flights sounded like a great idea, so with this and the excuse of my birthday, we scheduled a quick
stop over in Hong Kong. We were staying in Kowloon, and so the first day required a trip across to Hong Kong Island on the Star Ferry, the Peak Tram, and
wandering through some of Hong Kong's never ending under cover walkways diverting into all sorts of shopping malls and buildings. We topped off the day by
having a swim in the rooftop pool and a nice Chinese dinner overlooking the harbour. Our second day was a shopping day as we took in Harbour City, the
Ladies Market, the night market, Nathan Street, Granville Street and Kowloon Park. A refreshing stopover, with only the flight out being a depressing
thought.

ADELAIDE, AUST.: 23RD AUG-4TH SEPT 2008
Back in Adelaide. Again. It was a really good trip, but twice in a year is a bit much, although I wouldnt mind if it wasn't for the awful economy class flights! I felt more at home
this time considering I'd been back so soon, and to get up to the Barossa this time was good and we had a great day out for Jacquie's 30th. Jacquie and AJ's wedding was very nice, and
staying up at Mt. Lofty House was another nice little Adelaide stop. Family dinners on both sides at nice restaurants, winter weather of sunny 17C days, and my Grandma's 95th birthday
all reminded me of what home is actually like. (it's good!)

NICE/MONACO, FRANCE: 19TH-21ST JULY 2008
We had wanted to go to Nice for a good while, and courtesy of Sleazey Jet and some good hotel digging by Diana, we managed to do this on a reasonable budget.
We spent Saturday in Nice, Sunday in Monaco, and Monday in Saint-Paul de Vence, a nice little walled hilltop town which was a lot like Motovun in Croatia. I had
bought a new 70-200mm lens for my camera, so spent a good bit of the weekend trying it out (hence quite a few zoomed in style photos). The sun was out, we went to the Beach,
we watched the rich people live on their big yachts and drive their Ferrari's, and I even lost some money at the Casino Monte Carlo for good measure. A well rounded Cote d'Azur experience!

DISNEYLAND PARIS, FRANCE: 20TH-22ND JUNE 2008
Piglet, Pooh and Tigger... Oops I mean Simon, Diana and I went to Disneyland and Walt Disney Studios in Paris. Why? Why not, these things are fun! Some good rollercoasters, sunburn
waiting in line for Diana to hug Pooh, the Teacups; these were a few of the highlights. (with the Stunt car show and the Armaggedon ride the low lights. Actually is Armageddon a ride or just a 30 min borefest with some flame
and a lot of standing about? But I digress...) We all had fun, so it was well worth it.
