Hong Kong, China: 4th-7th September 2008

Breaking up the trip back to London into two smaller flights sounded like a great idea, so with this and the excuse of my birthday, we scheduled a quick stop over in Hong Kong. We were staying in Kowloon, and so the first day required a trip across to Hong Kong Island on the Star Ferry, the Peak Tram, and wandering through some of Hong Kong's never ending under cover walkways diverting into all sorts of shopping malls and buildings. We topped off the day by having a swim in the rooftop pool and a nice Chinese dinner overlooking the harbour. Our second day was a shopping day as we took in Harbour City, the Ladies Market, the night market, Nathan Street, Granville Street and Kowloon Park. A refreshing stopover, with only the flight out being a depressing thought.
