Aston Martin Thrill Ride & The Cotswolds: 19th-21st January 2007

For my 30th birthday, Diana bought me an Aston Martin DB9 Thrill ride, which I had finally booked.The drive was at Prestwold Hall, a couple of hours north of London, and to make the weekend complete we decided to spend the Saturday night in the Cotswolds.As another surprise on the day, Diana hired a VW Golf Gti to drive, which was fantastic. (Picture) After waiting around watching other cars go, I eventually got my drive around the track with the instructor driving a Subaru WRX, briefing me on the corners and drving style, and then it was time to step straight into the DB9!My first tap on the accelerator revealed how powerful this car was, and with "flappy paddle" gear change ready to go, I hurtled off down the track.I wont even try to describe it, but I had a fantastic drive and felt totally addicted.Getting the lines and braking right, which allowed you to be smoother through corners and go faster, the fact of coming out of the corner and flooring it to get back stability in the car, the sheer response, everything about it I utterly loved!! I even have a DVD recording of the drive, and got two extra laps while they recorded a DVD demo disc! As a finale, Diana took a 2 lap Porsche 911 turbo passenger lap which looking blindingly quick.After all that we headed off to the Cotswolds, and even had some sun on Sunday for a stunnigly picturesque drive.
