Alton Towers
Thanks to Simon for most of the photos.

10th September 2004

Alton Towers is about 2 and a half hours north of London by train/bus, and 9 of us took the trip rather than work on Friday. Despite promising weather forecasts it rained quite steadily for the first couple of hours and was very dull after that. Even with the cold and water we had a great time, managed to go on most rides once thanks to relatively short queues and one or two others a second time. Of course what day at a theme park would be complete without a few beers on the train home and then drinking at Oxford Street pubs until 1am!

Best rides are Nemesis, Air and Oblivion. There was a new one called Spinball Whizzer was quite good too. The one you can see us sitting on is Ripsaw.
